In September 2020, Nine of us rented four vehicles, fully equipped, for seven days and did a 4x4 trail in the Kruger park. All our dealings with this company were handled proffesionally and the owners went out of their way to please us. The prices were reasonable. All our vehicles were in perfect condition and performed well on the road and on the rough terrain that we encountered in the game reserve. Temperatures reached 42 deg C and still the vehicles performed perfectly. Tents were easy to use and comfortable, and vehicles had all the equipment that we needed, including the kitchen sink! I will definately make use of this company again. keep up the great work.

My wife and I are from Colorado U.S.A. and recently spent 21 days renting a fully equipped Toyota Hilux from SA 4x4 during our 5th self-drive trip through southern Africa. It was our best trip yet due in part to the professional services of this company. First, and most importantly I’d like to talk about the personal communications and dealings with the owners and employees. Communication via email and phone calls was prompt, easy and complete. We agreed to meet a company representative at our hotel in Windhoek Namibia the morning after we arrived in country. The reps. were on time (even early!) and very nice people. They spent the time that we needed to go over the truck, the process and important details such as how to use the satellite phone and how to get in touch with the company if we encountered any problems. Most importantly we were not rushed through the process and felt that we were valued customers. This was a great way to start our vacation and in ways meant even more to us than everything prior, because it solidified that we had made an excellent choice to rent from SA 4x4. So, we settled in to our new ride and as always made our first stop that morning to the grocery store! We ended up spending every night camping and living out of this Hilux except one night in the middle and the very last night. The truck never failed us! It was well sorted, in good condition and very clean. We knew with confidence that we would be able to travel wherever we wanted and not have to worry about the truck. For those of you that are experienced travelers you know that this can make or break a trip. We’ve all had a breakdown on the road and know that it can happen at any time to any vehicle so it was nice to know that SA4x4 takes this concern seriously and provides well maintained trucks and appropriate backup if something were to happen. The equipment also worked very well and unlike other companies that we have rented from in the past, all our equipment worked and continued to work throughout our trip! We could focus on having a good time. So, we travelled through Namibia along the Skeleton Coast, Spitzkope, The Brandberg, over and through Etosha NP, up to the Caprivi Strip, over and down to Maun, then through the Central Kalahari Reserve and finally to our drop off point in Johannesburg. We travelled approximately 5000 kms without a single issue!! Upon return of the truck we met with the owner, went over our experience and handed the keys back to the best company that we have rented from. Again, we were not rushed and felt very good that we had been taken care of by a professional company. My wife and I would like to thank them for providing an excellent truck and experience for our best of 5 self-drive trips to Africa! We will be back, and we will be renting from SA4x4 for our next trip. Thank you!
